Sometimes, the best evenings are spent at home with your significant other. Being at home provides a quiet atmosphere to talk and be together. The most important part of having a romantic evening at home is the preparation. There are several things you can do before the date starts that will make it a success.
Items you will need
- Dusting cloth
- Kitchen and bathroom cleaner
- Paper towels
- Menu plan and ingredients
- Table settings for two
- A bottle of wine
- Romantic movie
Clean your house from top to bottom. Vacuum all the floors and dust all surfaces. Make sure the bathroom and the kitchen have been cleaned with cleanser and wiped down with paper towels. Put away all excess clutter. Make your bed with new sheets.
Prepare food. You should have a menu in your head before you start to cook. Make sure you have a protein, vegetable and starch. For an even better showing, create an appetizer and dessert.
Set the table. Place a nice table cloth on the table and set two places using the good china. Use placemats and cloth napkins if you have some. Light candles on the table. Have a bottle of your guest's favourite wine ready.
After dinner is over, light a fire if you have a fireplace in your living room. If not, bring in some candles and use those. Candlelight is very soft and warm.
Put in a nice romantic comedy for both of you to watch. If you have both seen it, that's OK; it will provide background noise as you talk. If you don't want to watch a movie, play some soft music.
