Perhaps you want a man who is more mature and serious then men you have dated in the past. Perhaps you have met an attractive man who just happens to be a lot older than you. Regardless of the reason, some tips can increase your chances of success in a relationship with an older man.

Older Men With Children

The older a man is, the more likely it is that he has children. It is important to find out their ages, and whether they live with him part-time or full-time. Men like it when a woman takes an interest in his children, so ask questions about his kids and find out as much as you can about them. This shows him that you are genuinely interested in him as a person with a history. At the same time, it's important to be respectful of his feelings about when the time may be right for you to meet his offspring -- be sure not to push before he is ready.

An Older Man in the Bedroom

A man's age can affect how things will go in the bedroom. Although women reach their sexual peak in their mid 30s, men hit that same point much earlier in life, anywhere between 18 to 25. Allow your older man to set the pace of how often you have sex together -- you do not want to push him into more than he is able to perform. Keep in mind that even though the quantity of sex may be less with an older man, the quality is often better than with a younger guy with raging hormones who may not have the patience to attend to your needs.

Date Activity Compromise

A man who is much older may not be interested in doing some of the things that you enjoy. For example, he may not want to go to a bar and listen to loud music. The key in this case is to find a compromise of something that you both might like. Instead, you could have him take you out for a late dinner and then have drinks in the restaurant's lounge. Perhaps you both like bowling. In that case you can go compete with him over a couple of games at your favorite bowling alley. Be ready to try doing some activities with him that you may not have tried before. You may find that you enjoy something as much as he does.

Television Preparedness

Many younger people enjoy watching music television stations, situation comedies and reality TV. It is a strong possibility that an older man is more interested in world news and events than entertainment shows. He may want to talk about current events, so it is a good idea for you to keep up with the news and be prepared to be able to have an intelligent discussion about things that are happening in the news.
