It is very important, once you find a relationship, to delete any online dating pages you may have to avoid potentially painful misunderstandings. Facebook, being a very well visited social networking site, is one of the first profiles you should edit to reflect your new relationship status. If your significant other finds that you are presenting yourself to the Facebook masses as single and looking for dates, it may not play out well. You have two options in this matter: delete your profile altogether or simply change your relationship status.
Delete Your Facebook ProfileStep 1
Click "Account" from the top right corner of your Facebook home page.
Select the "Settings" tab, and click "Deactivate" next to "Deactivate Account."
Select a reason for deleting your profile, or just click "Other."
Click "Opt out of receiving e-mails from Facebook" to ensure that you no longer receive event invites, photo tags or notification e-mails.
Change Your Relationship StatusStep 1
Click "Profile" from your Facebook home page.
Select the "Info" tab, and click "Relationships" from the menu on the left.
Choose your new status from the drop-down box. Click "Save."
