How to Get a Guy to Call You Back

by Relationships & Family Editor

Men are notoriously bad at calling back the women they're interested in. It doesn't matter if you've had one date, three dates, or if you've been together for months. The bottom line is that you want your guy to pick up the phone and call you back. You might find it hard to believe, but you can make that happen.

Ask him to call. Your guy may be sitting around wondering if he should call you, so let him know it's OK.

Act unavailable to let him know he needs to call back sooner. You need to make sure he realizes that you aren't sitting by the phone and that you have other important things in your life.

Send him a text message asking for help with a problem or question. If he thinks he can score brownie points by calling you back with an answer, he might just pick up that phone.

Keep his schedule in mind before you give up completely. If a guy actually is busy at work or is in the middle of training for a marathon, he might not have time to give you a call right now.

Be coy when he does call. Let him know that you don't like to be kept waiting and that you won't be waiting around forever.

Play his game. Whether you want to admit it or not, dating is a game and if he wants to play, you can play too.

Tip

  • Realize that at some point you have to give up. If he's really interested in you, he'll call you and not wait for you to call first.

Warning

  • Be wary of threatening him with ultimatums or demands that he call you. All that will do is make him feel uncomfortable and less likely to call you back.
