Celebrate your partner's birthday by celebrating your love. Create a romantic birthday card that is tailored to suit your personal relationship. Your partner is sure to appreciate the effort you put into making this romantic birthday greeting. Capture the heart of the one you love all over again by celebrating the day she (or he) was born.
Items you will need
- Romantic poem
- Photo of yourself and recipient
- Craft scissors
- Hole punch
- Card stock
Take two pieces of card stock in your partner's favorite color. Cut each piece to measure 7 inches long by 5 inches wide.
Place the two pieces of card stock on top of each other.
Use the craft scissors to create a decorative scalloping along all four sides of the cards.
Take hole punch and punch out three holes on one side of the card stock. It is easiest if the two pieces are together when you punch it. Holes should be evenly spaced apart.
Cut an 18-inch section of ribbon and fold it in half; place the fold in the first hole. Thread ribbon through holes starting at the top and working down.
Bring the ribbon sections together at the bottom and tie into a small bow. If you would like a larger bow, cut ribbon longer.
Select a picture of a special time you and your partner shared. This can be a picture from your vacation or a picnic, or a photo of any type of loving moment. You want the picture to remind your significant other of the special bond that you share.
Glue this picture to the front of the card. It will be the first thing your partner sees, and sets the stage for the romance contained within.
Write "Happy Birthday" in script on the inside of the card. Follow the birthday message with a romantic one. A short poem that you have written yourself is extremely romantic. If you are not the creative type you can find poems and quotes online at websites like Verses 4 Cards or Love-Romantic.
Add any final decorative touches you would like. For instance, add color by gluing sequins to the card, or paper hearts and flowers.
