Romantic Things to Do in Waikiki

Romantic Things to Do in Waikiki

by Tiffany Raiford

Finding romance in Hawaii isn't difficult. The atmosphere alone is enough to make you fall in love all over again, whether you're on your honeymoon or have been married for 25 years. The warm weather, ocean views and tropical landscape add to the romantic feeling you'll have when visiting the Hawaiian Islands. On the island of O'ahu is the city of Waikiki. Waikiki is located right on the beach in Honolulu and is the home to dozens of oceanfront hotels, restaurants and romantic activities for couples.

Helicopter Tours

Few things are as romantic as cuddling up together while taking in some of the most beautiful sights in the world during a helicopter tour of Waikiki. You'll have the best view of the island possible, along with the option to bring along a bottle of champagne with which to toast one another. You'll fly over the clear waters of the Pacific, over waterfalls deep in the rainforests and over the mouths of active volcanoes. During a one-hour flight, you'll experience the entire city of Waikiki and the island of O'ahu from the best vantage point on the island, while sipping champagne and experiencing this once-in-a-lifetime view of Hawaii with the person you love.

Spa Date

One romantic way to spend time together in Waikiki is to book a couple's day at a spa. You'll get to relax together in an intimate setting, all while being pampered. Most of the resort spas in Waikiki allow couples to experience their couples massages right on the beach in a secluded oceanfront bungalow. Others have complete spa packages that include spa baths for two, massages and your own private room in which to relax. During your romantic time at the spa, you'll be able to reconnect in intimate surroundings while unwinding from your busy Waikiki vacation.

Romantic Dinners

Share a bottle, or two, of wine at one of Waikiki's most romantic restaurants, Bali Steak and Seafood. The dining room at Bali is completely open air and overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You'll be able to share that bottle of wine while sitting next to one another holding hands and watching the Hawaiian sun set over the Pacific. The dining room is dimly lit, which adds to the ambiance of an already romantic evening. Feed each other oysters and indulge in one of the decadent desserts listed on Bali's menu. This restaurant is located in the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort.
