Every guy has a romantic side, but some guys need guidance on expressing their sensuality. As your relationship progresses, you may notice how little effort your boyfriend puts forth when it comes to sex and romance. Communicating what your romantic interests are to your boyfriend is crucial. Just a little push and creativity on your part can give your boyfriend the impetus to be romantic regularly.

Step 1

Perform all the romantic gestures that you desire from your boyfriend. Send him a bouquet of flowers to his job on a random day. Include a card within the bouquet revealing your true feelings and how much you enjoy being in his life. If he does not reciprocate the gesture, send him another bouquet so that he can get the hint that you want the same in return.

Step 2

Arrange a romantic dinner at least two times in a month. Cook his favorite dinner, or take him to his favorite restaurant. Wear something that is sexy along with jewelry or perfume that he bought, so that he notices how much effort you are putting into the occasion. Talk about how much you wish you could have more intimate dinners.

Step 3

Talk with your boyfriend about how much you would like to see more of his romantic side. Go into detail about what you like about his romantic side, and also disclose what you do not like. If he has never been the romantic type, share with him the types of activities you want to engage in to enhance the romance in the relationship.

Step 4

Express how he can infuse more sensuality into all of the intimate engagements you share. Tell him what you like to hear when you dress up in something nice. Let him know that you like to hold hands when you all are out on a date. Exhibit these gestures so that he has an idea of how to carry them out. Specifying exactly what you want can move him to fulfill your wishes.

Step 5

Give yourself and him time to build the romance, because it is not going to happen overnight. Understand the type of person he is and be realistic about the expectations that you have for him.

Tip

  • If you notice that your boyfriend is not willing to cooperate, avoid letting his reluctance damage the relationship. Remember that there are many dimensions in a relationship and romance is merely one of them.
