As a woman, flirting can make you feel feminine and attractive but it can also be frustrating if you’re not sure you’re doing it right. Making eye contact, maintaining an engaging conversation and using proper body language are just a few of the tactics you can use to show a man you are interested in him. When you flirt, remember to be confident and secure in yourself; a confident woman is an attractive woman.

Eye Contact

Making eye contact is probably the most common way to initiate flirting in any country or language. When you are interested in a man, make regular eye contact with him and hold it just a few seconds longer than you would if you weren’t interested. Avoid staring, which can sometimes be creepy, but look him directly in the eye when he talks to you. Making eye contact with a man across a room will also increase the chances of him coming over to talk to you.

Sense of Humor

Most men appreciate a woman with a sense of humor, and laughing at a man’s jokes is another form of flirting if done correctly. Don’t force yourself to laugh as that will only make you appear fake. However, if a guy is funny, laugh at his jokes and take advantage of the situation to flash him a huge smile while making steady eye contact. Tell him how funny you think he is to let him know you appreciate one of his qualities.

Good Conversation

When it comes to flirting, a little conversation can go a long way in revealing your interest. If you're not exactly the talkative type, that's fine. You can come off as a clever conversationalist simply by keeping the topic focused on the other person, suggests medical doctor Fredric Neuman in the Psychology Today article, "How to Make Clever Conversation." For example, inquire about what type of music he listens. When he answers, listen attentively and ask a related follow-up question. If you have a shared interest, take the opportunity to mention it after he has finished talking.

Body Language and Physical Contact

Body language refers to the conscious and unconscious movements you make with your body to signify your feelings. Leaning toward a man indicates that you are attracted to him while leaning away indicates that you are not. Point your whole body in his direction and find small excuses to make physical contact, such as putting your hand on his arm or knee when laughing at a joke or making an interesting point.
