Smile coyly. When the French flirt, it's an art, and a smile says that you're interested. So, if you're not interested, take care not to smile, and if you see someone smiling at you, look away. But if you are interested, feel free to initiate or reciprocate the flirting with the smile. This is the first step and an important part of the seduction process.
Flatter the other person excessively. The French pay excessive compliments, particularly when they are interested in someone. Sometimes they're a little bit weird or random, e.g. "You have beautiful eyes;" "What a beautiful smile;" "You are very pretty;" "You're very handsome;" "You're very strong." Of course, it does sound nicer in French, and even if you know they're just trying to seduce you, a little bit of flattery can go a long way. In French, say, "Vous avez les yeux tres belle;" "Quel belle sourit;" "Vous etes tres joli;" "Vous etes tres beau;" "Vous etes tres fort."
Touch arms and shoulders gently. Gently touch the other person's arm or shoulder to let the person know you're interested, especially if you're already in conversation with him or her. Go the extra mile to let her know you're flirting and really interested. When you laugh at something he said, touch his arm to make sure he's paying attention. Also move subtly to draw attention to yourself. Of course, if you're a guy and out and about town, you might just pinch the butt of your interest. But seriously, only do this if you know it's not getting anywhere, because if you had a chance, you just ruined it.
Kiss her. Not the airy bisoux (light kisses to either side of the cheek), but a kiss on the hand. Kisses are a great tool for seduction. If you kiss her on the lips, you may get yourself slapped, so stick with something that works.
- If you're not interested, say that. They'll understand and no one will get their feelings hurt.
- The ultimate point of flirting is to win someone over--seduction. That means the men can be pushy and may not take no for an answer--they're the ultimate seducers. Women, however, may look like they aren't interested when they are.
