Whether you're a serial dater or you have your heart set on a particular person, getting a man to like you requires a little tact and some finesse. Dating is an important part of building and maintaining meaningful relationships, and mutual attraction is completely necessary, but sometimes a guy needs a little push in the right direction.
Study the man you desire, and take note of his likes and dislikes. If you're just looking to get any man in general to want you, go to a bar or pub with some friends and watch the guys there for signs of interest.
Pay attention to the type of person the man is attracted to, and then compare your traits to the traits of those surrounding him. Being like the people he is attracted to isn't necessary but can sometimes help, and being charmingly different is always a plus.
Make him laugh. Many guys like a girl with a sense of humor, and being uptight can be a turnoff. Approach the guy you desire and tell him a funny joke--his laugh may signal his feelings of interest.
Laugh at his jokes. Men love it when someone finds their anecdotes amusing, and some even like a cute, girlish laugh.
Dress to impress. Wear something that will catch his eye, and make sure he notices you. A well-fitting pair of blue jeans and a snug top often do the trick, but don't overdo it because you don't want to send the wrong kind of signals. Respond to his interest with a smile, conversation and other signs of your interest.
Ask him out without being too forward about it. Guys like a woman who knows what she wants, but being overly aggressive is a turnoff. Start out by offering him dinner or a game of pool, and see where it goes from there.
Suggest someplace you would like to go and see if he takes the bait. If he knows what interests you it could provide the nudge he needs to ask you for a date.
- Ask the man to work on your car or carry out some other traditionally masculine task for you. Men love to feel needed.
- Don't send the wrong kind of signals with too much makeup and skimpy clothing.
